Welcome to deer farm/petting zoo De Hertenkamp

Some 35 years ago, Stichting De Kinderboerderij was founded. This foundation manages the petting zoo for the municipality of Hilversum. The petting zoo is run by 3 managers and offers daytime activities to people with developmental disabilities (our ‘Participants’). In addition, many volunteers help out 7 days a week, 365 days a year to ensure that young and old can enjoy our beautiful farm for free. The petting zoo also runs educational programs to acquaint the children in the region with animals and nature.


De Hertenkamp is located at Hoge Naarderweg 205. You can't park your car there, so we recommend the Ceintuurbaan for parking space. This is the first exit to your left after the water tower on the Godelindeweg towards Laren. Tennis club Hoogerheide is situated next to the petting zoo. (See map below).
Of course you can also come by bike. There’s plenty of space!

The foundation is supported by an annual contribution from the municipality of Hilversum for the care of the deer and the maintenance of the Dudok stable (which is owned by the municipality).
For all other costs, we depend on compensation received for our Participants and on the contributions of donors and sponsors. We truly need their support and thank them wholeheartedly. It goes without saying that we welcome new donors and sponsors!
